Description Gary 2016-01-20 12:02:40 UTC
see announcement on http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/

my v7 client hasn't had any work units for a few weeks now, I suspect because of the requirement for v8

this port should go away. You can get the linux executables to run if this port is NOT installed, and you reset the project, after deleting the app_info.xml.
Comment 2 Gary 2017-01-13 17:14:48 UTC
How do you install the Linux seti@home executables? Using the Linux BOINC version or the FreeBSD one?
Comment 3 Larry Rosenman freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2017-01-13 17:26:40 UTC
FreeBSD one. Make sure you have linux emulation and a linux_base installed.

take this outdated port to it's death

Manfred Antar has given me the recipe to create a FreeBSD native setiathome binary.

I'll update/rename the port instead of nuking it.

Will require a net/boinc-client version bump / modernization, which
I was planning to do anyway.

Makefile shows:
PORTVERSION=    8.00

It is done, I think this could closed.
