Enabling powerd causes random crashes on Cherry Trail (bare console, no X, i915kms or anything). 
Always hard crash, no logging available.
Setting frequency manually with sysctl dev.cpu.0.freq=1440 got me backtrace once. See attached photo.

Seems to not be an issue anymore..
