Description gravity6 2016-05-02 20:26:00 UTC
The Notebook is a Clevo P750ZM (rebranded as XMG U505) with BIOS 1.05.01a configured to boot UEFI. Booting and installing is possible, Nvidia GTX970m is supported. But the first screen output is when the kernel starts. While the loader is active, there is just a black screen

 kernel: VT(efifb): resolution 1280x1024

I tried settings in loader.conf, but without success:

 boot_multicons="YES"
 console="efi,vidconsole,comconsole"

When booting with grub and linux i use the grub setting "GRUB_TERMINAL=console".
At the grub console by pressing "c" and typing "videoinfo" there is an empty list. The guess is, that there is no gop video mode available. Furthermore:
if once queried the modes via 'videoinfo' at grub, the following boot and reboots are in 'blind mode' as grub says. First Video output comes when the nvidia xorg driver loads. To get linux kernel boot messages back, the notebook has to be shutdown and started again. Maybe linux kernel parameter reboot=cold leads to the same.
