Hi.

I am totally new to BSD. Actually this bug is effecting me on Linux since 8 month, so I thought I give BSD a chance.

So I downloaded the BSD UEFI image and booted the system. When I can choose to install the system or use it as a live system, I can not use the keyboard to select anything.

It seems the OS does not recognize the Keyboard that is attached to SPI.

The Linux bug can be found here: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108331

Since I can not access the system right now and I am new to BSD, I can not give you any log files. If you show me how to to this, I go and get an external keyboard and give it a try ...

I'm working on this. The first step is attaching to Intel's SPI controller: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D29249 I am seeing the data packets with the spi(8) utility, so an input driver is not far away :)

I'm trying to boot FreeBSD 14.0 CURRENT (20230406-f21faa67ab6b-262010) on a MacBook Pro 14,1 (2017) and running into what appears to be the same issue: no keyboard after booting, either the install media or after installation. Perhaps I can help test any drivers that in-progress? Thank you.
