Description fcsk.aim 2016-07-02 08:49:19 UTC
I installed mysql 5.7.12 on freebsd 10.3 many times, all times i get failed precmd for mysqll , after some checks i identified the problem.
Problem is my.cnf if i delete /usr/local/etc/mysql/my.cnf all work fine.. mysql start.

If is necessary i upload video to see problem.

Hi.
Port has recently been updated to 5.7.13.
We also are changing default locations to match hier(7) and mysql standards.

After changes are applied, i guess your problem will be solved. :)
Comment 2 Markus Kohlmeyer 2016-07-02 10:37:24 UTC
Please keep in mind that the default location for my.cnf has changed from
"/var/db/mysql/my.cnf" to "/usr/local/etc/mysql/my.cnf". Please merge your
existing my.cnf with the new one and move it to the new location. If you
do not want to move your my.cnf to the new location then you must set
"mysql_optfile" in /etc/rc.conf to the location of your own my.cnf file.
