Description rainer 2017-02-17 10:05:06 UTC
Hi,

as the subject says.

This command generates the keys and certificates that the unbound-control program uses to communicate with the daemon.

This also affects 11.0

So, I found this:

https://svnweb.freebsd.org/base/release/10.3.0/contrib/unbound/smallapp/

it's only in the source.

Is there a reason local_unbound doesn't come with the "real" script by default?

This is intentional. The local_unbound daemon is intended to be used purely as a local caching resolver, for which a Unix control socket (which does not require keys) is sufficient. If you want to run Unbound as a service for other clients than just localhost, please install the port instead.
