Description Jason W. Bacon freebsd_committer 2017-12-27 02:49:54 UTC
This is an ongoing issue over many versions. I just haven't complained about it until now because it's not a serious problem.

When starting up a FreeBSD guest with the guest additions installed, the first three mouse clicks always have no effect.

The 4th and subsequent clicks behave normally.

The mouse moves fine and mouse-over actions work from the beginning.

Are you talking about mouse in an X11-session, or in the text mode (with moused)?

X11 session, thanks.

BTW, you can download a FreeBSD guest that exhibits the symptom here:

Any thoughts about this?

I just installed a TrueOS desktop system in VirtualBox and it exhibits the same symptom.

If you can suggest what to look at, I'd be happy to patch and test the port myself.

The status changed with a recent update. Mouse clicks are now not registering at all if moused is not running in the guest.

With moused enabled, mouse operation works fine.
