Description Justin Hibbits freebsd_committer 2018-01-03 15:16:55 UTC
Testing net/samba47 after bug 224838 comment #1, I see the following failure:

Check for -MD
int main() {return 0;}

[1/1] Compiling test.c
cc1: error: unrecognised debug output level "strict-dwarf"
['cc', '-pipe', '-g', '-ggdb', '-gdwarf-2', '-gstrict-dwarf', '-DLIBICONV_PLUG', '-D_FUNCTION_DEF', '-g', '-DLDAP_DEPRECATED', '-fno-strict-aliasing', '-MD', '-I/usr/local/include', '-DLIBICO
NV_PLUG', '-D_SAMBA_BUILD_=4', '-DHAVE_CONFIG_H=1', '../test.c', '-c', '-o', '/wrkdirs/usr/ports/net/samba47/work/samba-4.7.4/bin/.conf_check_0/testbuild/default/test_1.o']
command returned 'Build failed:  -> task failed (err #1): \n\t{task: cc test.c -> test_1.o,test_1.d}'no

.... Followed by additional errors

Base gcc does not recognize -gstrict-dwarf, but ports gcc's do. Is -gstrict-dwarf necessary?
Comment 1 Justin Hibbits freebsd_committer 2018-01-03 15:19:07 UTC
That should be bug 224834 comment #1 , not 224838
Comment 2 Justin Hibbits freebsd_committer 2018-01-03 16:01:48 UTC
Removing the "-gstrict-dwarf" from the DEBUG_CFLAGS in the port Makefile, the build completes successfully.
