Description Henno Schooljan 2018-05-17 22:31:27 UTC
net-mgmt/unifi5 version 5.7.23 now depends on an amd64-only port (databases/mongodb34), leaving people stuck on 5.7.20 on i386 systems (I'm using a low power 32-bit system for these kind of network tasks, I would rather keep using it). Was this a requirement from upstream?

Regards,

Henno

Looks like it is the same for the LTS port, perhaps even less convenient if specifically chosen for long term support ;)

Upstream uses mongodb 3.2 and we were far behind. They do support 3.4, but it looks like 3.6 has problems according to some user reports.

My aim was better upstream compatibility and requests from another port committer to move off the End of Life version of mongodb (2.x) for memory usage reasons and so we could remove the old mongodb from the ports tree.

It is unfortunate that there is no mongodb support for i386 anymore.

Sadly I will have to reject this bug report. You can't even install the officially supported Debian release of unifi on i386 either at this point.
