This is done on Lenovo IdeaPad 320 laptop that has this device:

Does this work on the stable kmod? We are in the process of updating -next to 4.15.

No, I was referring to graphics/drm-stable-kmod. Does it work with that?

As I said, it's very unlikely that any major fixes are going to happen in graphics/drm-next-kmod prior to the 4.15 import.
