This is seeming to be a rather deep problem between xorg & clang on i386,
per the following:

http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-bugs/2013-January/026989.html

It does not appear to be fixable in userland.  Perhaps a different xorg pkg can be compiled/provided without the optimization levels?
