Created attachment 196958 [details] copied and edited INDEX.fonts file Playing around with the vidfont tool, i saw, that there is no INDEX.fonts file in /usr/share/vt/fonts. This file delivers some additional information in the vidfont interface. So i copied the file from /usr/share/syscons/fonts/ and edited it, to match the existing fonts in /usr/share/vt/fonts. In my tests this worked for english and german. The other languages are copied and might not be correct.
We can omit the "ISO 8859-1 National Character Set FAQ" from the copy. I'll submit a request to re@ to commit a version of your patch, limited to just the ones that are known good (English and German) and also unique.
I will add the Makefile change. For the commit message is this OK: Submitted by: Martin <martin.jakob@gmx.com>
