Description andy 2018-10-22 15:26:49 UTC
Just upgraded a machine to 13-current:

FreeBSD 13.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 13.0-CURRENT #18 r339556: Sun Oct 21 17:33:46 EDT 2018 root@sparc:/usr/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/MYKERNEL
amd64 1300000

I deleted /usr/ports and did a fresh svnlite co into /usr/ports.

Comment 1 Kristof Provost freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2018-10-22 15:59:09 UTC
The package builders haven't been upgraded yet, so they're not yet building packages for 13. That'll happen soon, and 'pkg-static install -f pkg' should succeed then.
Comment 2 Stefan Eßer freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2018-10-22 19:25:14 UTC
But why do I get this same warning on a system that has a consistent -CURRENT kernel and world, even after re-building pkg on that system from a port?

kern.osrelease: 13.0-CURRENT
kern.version: FreeBSD 13.0-CURRENT #10 r339443M: Fri Oct 19 11:16:14 CEST 2018

The pkg command built on 12-CURRENT did not emit that warning, even though *that* binary had been built on a different "major version" ...
Comment 3 Mark Linimon freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2018-10-23 06:41:04 UTC
This is an issue with the package builders needing to be updated.
Comment 4 Cy Schubert freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2019-01-02 17:53:31 UTC
It's not the package builders. I see this same issue on virgin jails: freshly built pkg from ports in the jail.
