Created attachment 199720 [details] patch for official plist ordering It looks like there is an official ordering for plist's (some committers explicitly requested it), although it is only suggested and not required in the porter's handbook: my patch makes it clear that it is required and tries to explain it better. Indeed the ordering is described by the handbook just as alphabetical and I thought that the "sort" command would generate it, but I was wrong: I was explained that the ordering must occur after variable expansion, not before, and that "make makeplist" can be used to generate it. I put those details in the patch.
