CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 v5 Disks SATA, WD RE 2TB. ZFS, RAID Z2, 8 disks. On the topic of the FreeNAS forum, I raised the issue of using an HDD in a ZFS pool using the Intel Sunrise Point AHCI Controller (Intel C236). If I start using the iscsi service (ctld - CAM Target Layer / iSCSI target daemon) then I can get chaotic mistakes from different disks. Just turning off the server and turning the power on solves the problem. When I start use external SAS controller "LSI 3008 in IT mode", now no any errors with disk. If start use again AHCI controller Intel Sunrise Point , CAM errors back. https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/by-start-use-iscsi-service-on-freenas-core-system-start-pull-errors-device-ata-error-count-increased-if-used-achi-of-intel-c236.72519/ Vendor support say that FreeBSD not in "ASUSTek Server Platform Supported OS List" - https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket1151/P10S-X/QVL/P10S_Series_OS_Support_List_2017.pdf Does the Intel Sunrise Point AHCI Controller have any problems with FreeBSD?
(In reply to lexxai from comment #0) We have a system running a ZFS mirror on Intel S1200SPO m/b with Sunrise Point AHCI with no problems. But not using iSCSI. Is there a BIOS update to try?
(In reply to Bob Bishop from comment #1) If not use iSCSI , with SAMBA and zfs scrub all OK. Latest BIOS, tested on two same m/b.
^Triage: I'm sorry that this PR did not get addressed in a timely fashion. By now, the version that it was created against is out of support. Please re-open if it is still a problem on a supported version.
