Description robert.ayrapetyan 2019-01-31 00:36:07 UTC
Periodically, when performing activity in chromium, PC freezes and only hard-reset resolves the issue. This has started to happen recently after upgrade from 6x to 71.

I'm able to reproduce it at least once per day performing following steps:
1. VNC to remote desktop PC (having built-in Intel video card, maybe it matters)
2. Run Chromium there and open > 10 tabs
3. Perform some activity in a heavy JS app (e.g. in gmail)

Remote PC freezes, VNC session interrupts, PC doesn't respond to mouse movements and keyboard activity locally.

There are no coredumps, no errors in Xorg.0.log or /var/log/messages.

Where else can I look?
Thanks.

Chromium 71 includes a V8 version. It's a buggy version, and supposedly they are fixed in the new version.

Maybe to downgrade it to 6x in packages then? 71 is the only available version on FreeBSD now (even in quarterly packages). 72 is also not stable yet as per comments on the link you've provided. Thanks.

Chromium has been update to 72.0.3626.119 including JS fixes.
