Description Yuri Victorovich freebsd_committer 2019-05-04 21:31:37 UTC
openmpi-1.10.7_4 installs
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/ompi-c.pc
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/ompi-cxx.pc
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/ompi-f77.pc
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/ompi-f90.pc
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/ompi-fort.pc
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/ompi.pc
	/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib/pkgconfig/orte.pc

which can't be found by pkg-config:
$ pkg-config --libs ompi-c
Package ompi-c was not found in the pkg-config search path.

They should go into /usr/local//libdata/pkgconfig

The .pc files are now installed in /usr/local/mpi/openmpi/libdata.

I'm doing that because we have 2 versions of open-mpi currently in the ports tree and it allows users to have both installed. It's useful for open-mpi users because they can experiment with both implementations without the need for removing one to install another. It also allows you to have net/mpich installed without conflicting with openmpi.

If you rely on pkg-config, you can set the PKG_CONFIG_PATH variable to point to the right place. For example:

[danilo@capeta ~]$ PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/libdata/pkgconfig/ pkg-config --libs ompi-c
-L/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib -Wl,-rpath=-Wl,-rpath=/usr/local/lib/gcc9 -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/usr/local/mpi/openmpi/lib -Wl,--enable-new-dtags -lmpi

I could install only the net/openmpi .pc's files to ${LOCALBASE}/libdata but I'd like to keep the consistency.

If we eventually decide to have just the newest openmpi in ports then it will be done.
