just try to install gem from ports. ????

ruby version 2.5 installed


[ root@ /usr/ports/devel/ruby-gems ] # ruby --version
ruby 2.5.5p157 (2019-03-15 revision 67260) [amd64-freebsd11]
[ root@ /usr/ports/devel/ruby-gems ] # make
===>  gems-3.0.4 Only ruby 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 are supported.
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /usr/ports/devel/ruby-gems
[ root@ /usr/ports/devel/ruby-gems ] #
[ root@ /usr/ports/devel/ruby-gems ] # uname -a

Have you something in /etc/make.conf?

You are right. There was default version of ruby.

yes. There was old version of ruby in /etc/make.conf set.
I have changed it to actual version of ruby and ruby-gems build and install successfully.
