WeeChat 2.5 [compiled on Sep 3 2019 22:50:30]
Error: API mismatch for plugin "/usr/local/lib/weechat/plugins/aspell.so" (current API: "20190413-01", plugin API: "20180812-01"), failed to load
If plugin "aspell" is old/obsolete, you can delete this file.

But aspell is new:

 > pkg info aspell
aspell-0.60.8.20190817
Name : aspell
Version : 0.60.8.20190817
Installed on : Sat Sep 7 19:28:53 2019 CEST
Origin : textproc/aspell
Architecture : FreeBSD:11:amd64

The error message is somehow misleading. As aspell was installed along with weechat as a dependency aspell was not "old/obsolete" as the message suggests.

The file /usr/local/lib/weechat/plugins/aspell.so was a leftover from a previous installation and was not installed by the current installation.

New installations does not create a file /usr/local/lib/weechat/plugins/aspell.so
So the question now is, where is the plugin aspell?
And why does weechat depend on aspell if the plugin is not installed?
