Despite following along with the Handbook while installing FreeBSD, I managed not to see this sentence under figure 2.53:

"Do not forget to remove the FreeBSD install media or the computer may boot from it again."

(Perhaps were I using a physical CD and not an ISO file in a VM I would have thought of it!)

I suggest that FreeBSD do as Ubuntu does at the end of it's installation and display something like:

"Please remove the installation medium, then press ENTER"
