Description xgeoplasma6 2020-02-20 15:39:00 UTC
Hi,

I come from Italy and I tried to download FreeBSD from this link www.freebsd.org/it/where.html and I noticed many important things:

1- In the italian version of the Website(https://www.freebsd.org/it/where.html) the latest release linked is "FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE" while in the english version of the Website(https://www.freebsd.org/where.html) the latest release linked is "FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE";

2- When I click on every arch in the italian Website it does literally ANYTHING! I click on amd64 ISO for FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE and it links me to this: "ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/" that produces only a blank page. If I do this in the english Website it redirects me to this: https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/amd64/amd64/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/
The second link works while the first doesn't as I already said!

3- Only for the alpha architecture if I press on "Distribuzione", here's what I am redirected to: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/alpha/12.0-RELEASE and... blank page! Btw for other architectures works...
I'm sure that it isn't a problem of my connection because this link from the italian page works perfectly: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/12.0-RELEASE

4- These links don't work, I tried for every architecture but they are missing: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/12.0R/installation-amd64.html, https://www.freebsd.org/releases/12.0R/hardware-amd64.html, https://www.freebsd.org/releases/12.0R/relnotes-amd64.html <- This from the italian site... For what is regarding the english site, everything works perfectly there...!

All these things are valid for every release listed on the italian version of https://www.freebsd.org/where.html

There are about 60 links broken on that page, according to https://validator.w3.org/checklink?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.freebsd.org%2Fit%2Fwhere.html&hide_type=all&depth=&check=Check

It would be great to have some kind of automatic check in place to avoid this kind of situation in the future.

Hi all, thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately, due to the reasons that you mentioned and no enough people working on it, the `it` language has now been removed from the homepage (https://www.freebsd.org/).

Closing this PR for now. If you are interested in joining the language team and get Italian websites back to work, please do let me know ;)
