purple-matrix is a plugin for libpurple which adds the ability to communicate with matrix.org homeservers to any libpurple-based clients (such as Pidgin).

This project is somewhat alpha, and only basic functionality has been implemented. Sending and receiving simple text messages is supported, as is joining rooms you are invited to by other users.

shar archive for net-im/purple-matrix

I added a traditional shar archive. The content is the same as in the svn diff.

After a longer period if testing, I think this should not be added to the ports tree. The plugin regularly stops working after some time and upstream is dead, so this will probably never be fixed.

I looked at matrix-ircd, which seems to be a more mature way to connect your IRC client to the matrix. At least it didn't stop working in the few day I tested it and, more importantly, the upstream is alive.

Therefore I will close this PR and submit a new port for matrix-irc in a few days.

If anyone interested in this Port, feel free to use the attached port, but change the MAINTAINER.
