Description Frank Shute 2020-05-15 13:47:20 UTC
$ man ntpd
Problems. As in front of it in $MANPATH is:
and all the other man pages for ntpd from base.
I happened to realise what was happening, so I could have a look at man(1)
$ man -M /usr/local/man: ntpd
which prepends that path to $MANPATH and you then get to see the page from the port.

I mentioned it on docs@ & was advised by Ben Kaduk that it merited a pr:

  Add a note in pkg-message that you need to override the manual search
  path to view the correct ntpd(8) man page.

This also affects, even more so, the net/ntp and net/ntpsec ports. There is no good solution.

I have added a note in pkg-message.
