Patch to update lang/vala

Update to 0.50.0
Comment 1 Tobias C. Berner freebsd_committer 2020-09-27 16:09:19 UTC
@lbart, you were looking into this update previously, right?
Comment 2 Loïc Bartoletti freebsd_committer 2020-09-27 16:54:19 UTC
(In reply to Tobias C. Berner from comment #1)
Yes, the last time I tested, I was blocked by anjuta asking for a version of vala <= 0.49

An exp-run should be requested.

Olivier have you been able to test some ports with vala 0.50.0?
Comment 3 Olivier Duchateau 2020-09-27 17:25:14 UTC
(In reply to Loïc Bartoletti from comment #2)

Only ibus and tracker, but some ports need to be patched in order to build successfully.
Comment 4 Tobias C. Berner freebsd_committer 2020-09-27 17:39:39 UTC
(In reply to Olivier Duchateau from comment #3)
Do you have a powerful enough machine to find out what all needs fixing or do you want to go directly to an exp-run and figure it out via that?
Comment 5 Tobias C. Berner freebsd_committer 2020-09-27 17:42:11 UTC
(In reply to Tobias C. Berner from comment #4)
On that note: would it make sense to bundle some of your updates in a single review, and then exp-run that?

Ping? Olivier, perhaps you can check that the patch still applies to the ports tree as-of-today (like, post git-transition and post $FreeBSD$-removal), then we can request an exp-run.

vala-0.52.4 v1
Comment 10 Loïc Bartoletti freebsd_committer 2021-07-28 06:08:06 UTC
Hi antoine,

desktop@ would like to ask for an exp-run for the update to vala 0.52.4. Patch is attached, applies to git main.
Comment 11 Olivier Duchateau 2021-07-28 14:44:05 UTC
The 0.50.x releases are still maintained by upstream. I use the 0.50.9 with my own ports.
Comment 12 Loïc Bartoletti freebsd_committer 2021-07-30 17:52:14 UTC
Is there a reason to use 0.50 instead of 0.52? AFAIK arch/openbsd/gentoo/etc have vala 0.52. Just asking.
