Document: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/virtualization.html FreeBSD as a Guest on Parallels for Mac OS® X -> FreeBSD as a Guest on Parallels Dekstop for Mac for macOS® FreeBSD as a Guest on Virtual PC for Windows® -> It's outdated and runs on until Windows 7, which Microsoft stopped further supports since January 2020. We need FreeBSD as a Guest on VMware Workstation for Windows and Linux chapter. FreeBSD as a Guest on VMware Fusion for Mac OS® and FreeBSD as a Guest on VMware Workstation for Windows and Linux -> after installation, install open-vm-tools via pkg or install xf86-input-vmmouse and xf86-video-vmware from x11-driver ports. 21.5. FreeBSD as a Guest on VirtualBox™ -> noted that the guest addition for FreeBSD is outdated, and the latest version(6.1.14) doesn't work when try boot from .iso
Outated guset additions still works.
I'd prefer to keep this PR open. It raises valid concerns about the virtualization chapters in the handbook.
The document is not changed. Any other opinions?
(In reply to Minsoo Choo from comment #3) It would be great if you could submit a patch. That would help us a lot. :)
We are discussing what should be added, deleted, or updated in FreeBSD Forum. There have been several arguments and it will take a long time to find a person who can edit the handbook and commit. I'm in family vacation now, so I don't have much time for contributing. I will have some free time from February. I'm so sorry about this. (In reply to Minsoo Choo from comment #5) Thanks for sharing the link!
Created attachment 224675 [details] diff file I have a diff file and a new image, but I don't have an access to doc.git. How can I get it?
(In reply to Minsoo Choo from comment #7) Thanks for the patch! Could you please open a review on https://reviews.FreeBSD.org and link it back here? This way we can review it, and once it is good to go one of the committers will help land it in git.

Absolutely no need to be sorry, any contribution is appreciated, and we will help you bring it closer to land ;)
Sorry for the delay. I just made the commit :)
Sorry this is old, I was looking at this post in the forum for different reason. Minsoo why did you not mention KVM (libvirt)? I suggested it in the Forum post back then where I said "FreeBSD can run on KVM. Mention KVM in the doc and point to the KVM site or wiki page or both, whatever. Mention does not mean provide in-depth guides.". and, probably the best summation of what I was saying: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/please-give-some-ideas-about-the-handbook-describing-freebsd-in-virtual-machine-how-to.78285/#post-488972 Unfortunately that forum thread was ruined by a couple of habitual trolls, particularly 'kpedersen' and 'drhowarddrfine', who have big opinions but don't produce anything useful.
The content of that link: > FreeBSD can be a guest on KVM so should be mentioned at least. > > https://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Guest_Support_Status#FreeBSD
