When I open .jpg and .png files I get metadata but not a graphic view of the images. 

Are we maybe missing a dependency?

Image visualization works for me. Not the way you are trying though.

On the left side of the window try to click on "files", find an image, click on the menu "Fm" and then "Preview Image". It should work.

Please, close the PR if you get it working.

Thanks for the explanation. 

(I imagined that I would be able to set TEA as a handler for images.)
