I noticed that my nextcloudclient process will take up a core fully, whenever the server is not reachable, until it is again.

No, I kind of assumed, that it is a FreeBSD specific issue as we likely lack some backend to monitor "network reachability", which makes it falling back to some ressource wasting code.
