Created attachment 222978 [details] Screen depicting the problem Hi, based on discussion I had with developer on https://forum.netgate.com/topic/161637/x-540-t2-didn-t-boot-up-on-pfsense-ce-2-5-0-release-amd64/6 We saw that this ethernet card is not supported in 12.2-STABLE. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/pl/pl/ark/products/58954/intel-ethernet-converged-network-adapter-x540-t2.html Can this be improved in future ? https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-src/blob/master/sys/dev/ixgbe/ixgbe_type.h#L85 https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/8086 Thank you.
Created attachment 222985 [details] Added PCI ID 0x1512 in ixgbe driver for X540T2 Try to build kernel with this patch. P.S. Please next time copy&paste plain text of pciconf -lv, but not photo of the screen.
Where did you acquire this adapter? This is an non-production internal-only device id and as such we cannot add public support for it.
Per Jeff Piper's information as well as the acknowledgement by the two known users in the forum link in the first comment switching to supported NICs, we won't add the PCI ID.
