I no longer see ASCII art. 

In addition to updating the manual page, it may be worth mentioning the enhancement in release notes for upcoming 13.0.

If your ASCII art is broken after a major upgrade, it's most likley because you haven't updated the bootcode with gpart or by writing a new file to your EFI System Partition.

Please make sure you troubleshoot things properly before you report them as bugs, and please don't tag multiple mailing lists.

It is not. 

It is better (artistically, without ASCII) after updating the bootcode.

I did not.
