Description Rob LA LAU 2021-04-01 09:11:18 UTC
Hi,

To keep /usr/local/etc tidy, it would be nice if this port would create a directory /usr/local/etc/clamav to store the files clamd.conf, clamd.conf.sample, freshclam.conf, freshclam.conf.sample, clamav-milter.conf and clamav-milter.conf.sample.

Thanks for considering.

Best,
  Rob

I think it should be decided by upstream. So please send your request to upstream.

Will this change be communicated - in /usr/ports/UPDATING? As I'm sure it will catch a lot of users off-guard.

The change will be made in dev/0.104 branch of upstream repository and will be reflected in upcoming 0.104.0 release. I'll add entry about it to UPDATING when this port is updated to 0.104.0.

This change was cancelled by upstream.

I don't think that this decision should be made by a developer, but rather by a sysadmin. But if it's up to the developers, then this decision has been made, and this issue may be closed.
