Description Evilham 2021-07-24 10:02:57 UTC
"cdist is a usable configuration management system. It adheres to the KISS principle and is being used in small up to enterprise grade environments. It natively supports IPv6 since the first release. cdist is an alternative to other configuration management systems."

My personal definition of cdist is: it's shell on steroids for server and workstation management.

The BSDs are well supported and it only requires python on the controller host, for the controlled hosts only a POSIX shell is required.

sysutils/cdist: usable configuration management

This port is created with three patches to upstream source, two of these are already in their unreleased HEAD and another patch has been submitted: https://code.ungleich.ch/ungleich-public/cdist/-/merge_requests/1012
