Works fine in a system a bit older than yours:

$ uname -a
FreeBSD hammer 14.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT #22 main-n248507-362fef2f4a99: Fri Aug  6 18:12:43 CEST 2021     root@hammer:/usr/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/GENERIC  amd64

It works fine in 13 too.

Things to try:

* Reinstall the port/package in case you updated world in between
* Any chances of getting a backtrace?. We would need building with something like:
 cd x11/gtkchtheme; WITH_DEBUG=yes STRIP= make
