Description MAssimo Mollo 2021-09-23 19:39:42 UTC
Start installer with the mini-memstick image.
Create on the destination hd (GPT) the following partitions:
/ 12gb
/home 2gb
/var 3gb
/var/log 1gb
/tmp 5 gb
/usr/ports 15gb
/root 5 gb

the installer fails with the message "can't create .cshrc on /root".
If you don't use a partition for /root, the installer works correctly.

Is a separate /root partition a supported install scenario? My (possibly outdated) knowledge says that /root should be part of / so that root can still log in and access termcap in single-user mode, where only the root partition is mounted.

I mean, that's because /.cshrc is a hardlink to /root/.cshrc, isn't it?
