Sorry for my bad English... FreeBSD 12.3-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 12.3-PRERELEASE r370752 GENERIC amd64 I have an Acer Aspire XC-895 (Intel Core i5-10400/UHD Graphics 630) computer. In FreeBSD 12.3-PRERELEASE-amd64, the drm-fbsd12.0-kmod video driver does not works (although it works for Intel NUC5PPYH, Intel NUC7PJYH for FBSD 12.3 and drm-fbsd13-kmod video driver works for FBSD13 and Acer), so for Acer in 12.3 you have to use the scfb driver. And if I install FBSD 12.3-PRERELEASE-amd64 and Xfce 4.16 (plus xfce4-goodies with xfce4-screensaver) with 'pkg install' and configure it then Xfce desktop halted when xfce4-screensaver starts (with disabled Lock) and scfb driver. The workaround: disable xfce4-screensaver and use xscreensaver then all OK in scfb mode for Acer. Also I test xfce4-screensaver with Intel NUC5PPYH and Intel NUC7PJYH and FBSD 12.3-PRERELEASE-amd64 and _drm-fbsd12.0-kmod_ then all OK with Xfce4 and xfce4-screensaver. Problem in combination with scfb video driver and when xfce4-screensaver starts after pause then Xfce halted. Is it possible to fix this problem for future FreeBSD 12.3-PRERELEASE or BETA?
Hi, Is this still happening? Not sure if this is something that can be fixed on the xfce side. Maybe if you could access the system remotely and try to discover what is happening. Also are you still using the scfb driver? With FreeBSD 13.1 you should be able to get good support for your hardware with the drm drivers.
Hi, my bug report concerned FreeBSD 12.x. drm driver in FreeBSD 12.x does not work with Acer XC-895 Intel UHD Graphics 630. Now I cannot exactly put this experiment with scfb and xfce4-screensaver. I downloaded the FreeBSD-12.3-STABLE dated May 19, 2022, but it works very unstable on Intel NUC5PPYH. I don't know why this is happening. Perhaps because of the system itself, or maybe bad blocks appeared on the HDD. Acer XC-895 is now running a different operating system, so I can't check it. In FreeBSD 13.0, Acer XC-895 with a drm driver really had everything OK before. You can close this bugreport.
