Description Luciano Mannucci 2021-10-21 17:17:32 UTC
When connecting to a freeBSD server running the last pure-ftpd, any try to download files via mget command ends in a "Can't check for file existence"
message. See:

ftp> mget *.c
Can't check for file existence
ftp> ^D

on the server side the only thing that is logged to /var/log/messages is:

Oct 21 18:59:52 mordaglio pure-ftpd: (?@?) [ERROR] Unable to find the 'ftp' account

Adding the user (needed for anonymous ftps, I suppose) doesn't change anything.

The only workaround I found is downgrading to a previous version.

Luciano.
