Description doctor 2022-01-12 06:40:45 UTC
There is a version of openssl 1.1.1m and quic which would help the current situation. I also love Openssl 3 but a many of the servers and languages are not openssl 3 compliant yet. Also Apple OS X reacts nastily to openssl 3 as a server. let us port openssl 1.1.m + quic . I am working with Openssl to convince them to merge the quic patches as mainstream.

security/openssl is 1.1.1m, and 14.0-CURRENT is also 1.1.1m, 13.0 is 1.1.1k but we don't upgrade it unless a very good reason. stable/13 is already 1.1.1m so 13.1 and 14.0 will have 1.1.1m (or later) when release.

Li-Wen , You need a security/openssl111-quictls and security/openssl3-quictls , not in the src/mainstream. Rational is that not all the apps are ported over to openssl3. Currently security/openssl-quictls should be rename security/openssl3-quictls . This URL https://github.com/quictls/openssl/tree/OpenSSL_1_1_1m+quic should be what security/openssl111-quictls is based on. As for updates, https://www.openssl.org/ issue.
