Created attachment 233226 [details] X server present extension patch I ran across an issue where the X server (xorg-server-1.20.14,1) would crash if I ran xeyes. This maybe only occur or tend to occur with Nvidia drivers according to information found within https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1275. My system: - FreeBSD 12.3-STABLE - xorg-server-1.20.14,1 - nvidia-driver-510.60.02 While the latest xorg-server has this patch, v1.20.14 does not. I can vouch that the X server no longer crashes with the patch applied to v1.20.14.
I am also seeing this issue with xeyes. xorg-server-1.20.14,1 nvidia-driver-510.60.02 13.1-RELEASE
For what it's worth, I'm not seeing this problem (if starting up xeyes and moving the mouse around while they eyeball it is a valid test). I'm using locally compiled packages with poudriere, for what that's worth. I'm guessing you're using packages with that version of xorg-server. xorg-server-21.1.4,1 nvidia-driver-510.60.02 FreeBSD stable/13-n252124-f7cb4773167 Back in mid-July, I submitted bug #265244 for some security CVEs vs 1.20.14. Current-main has moved to 21.1.x, but not sure how the backports to older quarterly versions are going.
(In reply to John Kennedy from comment #2) As John noted, this issue still exists in the quarterly builds but is fixed in latest with xorg-server 21.1.4.
(In reply to Sean Farley from comment #3) <https://www.freshports.org/x11-servers/xorg-server/#packages> Can this report be closed? Thanks.
This issue was resolved as of commit 88b0ae2bb9c65edc63073dc211fb57e3dec05a9e (xorg: upgrade to 21.1.4).
