freebsd-update(8) and boot environments ======================================= Cross-reference: <https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/84822/> Creation of boot environments is a significant enhancement, I reckon that release notes should mention this. Under <https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-doc/blob/main/website/content/en/releases/13.1R/relnotes.adoc#userland>, maybe? <https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/?h=releng/13.1&id=1420778e9ee6486331dec3a1bf143c697cb72706> <https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-src/commit/1420778e9ee6486331dec3a1bf143c697cb72706> <https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/?h=releng/13.1&id=8a3c868ab4e66ace70367b0ba943a324841d9a63> <https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-src/commit/8a3c868ab4e66ace70367b0ba943a324841d9a63>
Bump! Will release notes _not_ mention creation of boot environments by freebsd-update?
(In reply to Graham Perrin from comment #0) ⚙ D35213 13.1-RELEASE note: freebsd-update boot environment <https://reviews.freebsd.org/D35213>
This undocumented change caused all of my FreeBSD servers which run tight on disk space (on purpose) to run out of space a few hours after a freebsd-update/reboot routine. It took me a bit to track down this change and determine the cause since I do not use snapshots or BEs routinely.
(In reply to Jesse Rehmer from comment #3) I'm sorry that this change was not noted.
