I have a laptop with an integrated SIS graphics card. Updated today: Code: pkg upgrade Updating FreeBSD repository catalogue... FreeBSD repository is up to date. All repositories are up to date. Checking for upgrades (8 candidates): 100% Processing candidates (8 candidates): 100% Checking integrity... done (1 conflicting) - libxcvt-0.1.2_1 conflicts with xorg-server-1.20.14,1 on /usr/local/bin/cvt Checking integrity... done (0 conflicting) The following 9 package(s) will be affected (of 0 checked): New packages to be INSTALLED: libxcvt: 0.1.2_1 Installed packages to be UPGRADED: graphviz: 2.50.0_5 -> 2.50.0_8 xf86-input-keyboard: 1.9.0_4 -> 1.9.0_5 xf86-input-libinput: 1.2.0 -> 1.2.0_1 xf86-input-mouse: 1.9.3_3 -> 1.9.3_4 xf86-video-scfb: 0.0.7 -> 0.0.7_1 xf86-video-sis: 0.12.0_1 -> 0.12.0_2 xf86-video-vesa: 2.5.0 -> 2.5.0_1 xorg-server: 1.20.14,1 -> 21.1.4,1 Number of packages to be installed: 1 Number of packages to be upgraded: 8 and X did not start. I had to roll back to older versions of the packages.
the same happens when using portmaster to upgrade.
Checking integrity... done (1 conflicting) - libxcvt-0.1.2_1 conflicts with xorg-server-1.20.14,1 on /usr/local/bin/cvt
managed to fix the problem by manually remove xorg-server and drivers, then install libxcvt, xorg-server and drivers.
Happens also to 13.1 inside Virtual Box. Removing xorg-server/-drivers, vbox guest additions and reinstalling these does not help fixing the situation...
(In reply to L Wang from comment #3) I could not get. Everything remains as it was. :(
(In reply to Martin 'caubert' Kauber from comment #4) to get X working, had to change pkg sources from latest to quarterly and re-install packages from there
(In reply to Martin 'caubert' Kauber from comment #6) administrator/index.php?option=com_quickfaq&view=stats(In reply to Martin 'caubert' Kauber from comment #6) Quarterly does not yet have libxcvt and xorg-server 21.1.4.1
Hello, For Virtualbox issue more information is available in this ticket https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=265731 Issue is now solved after upgrade packages (using latest repo).
(In reply to Alexandre Labarre from comment #8) ...good to hear it works in general, for me virtualbox still blacks out, after reinstalling xorg and drivers
(In reply to Martin 'caubert' Kauber from comment #9) This is strange. I am using Virtualbox 6.1.36 and display controller VBoxSVGA. I am using latest repo for pkg sources (not quarterly).
it's also not working for me - this is using vmware fusion. I recompiled everything using latest and I still get the system hanging after startx
after the latest update to xorg-server to 21.1.4_1,1 my x11 is working again
(In reply to Jason Beech-Brandt from comment #12) I have the latest xorg-server as yours and also the latest libxcvt but my xorg fails I have to revert back to 1.20.14,1 to make it work
I got it working after uninstall latest version of xorg-server and xf86-video-nv video driver. reinstalled 21_5 version of xf86-video-nv and xorg-server 4_1,1 and it is working now. Thanks to everyone!
I think we can reasonably assume that this is overcome by events, for everyone who might have been affected. (In reply to elimelech007 from comment #0) Thank you for reporting. For future ports-related reports: a suitable prefix, in the summary line, should ensure automated assignment to the appropriate person or list. (For Bugzilla purposes, this was not a standards issue.) Hint: at the head of the FreshPorts page for a port, use the two bug icons.
