attachment not working

Hello,

I did install FreeBSD 13.1 as a Virtualbox guest under a Wx Host.
I did follow the instructions from the Handbook in oder to make it work, especially the Virtualization section.

I shared a folder with the following command from the host system:

* VBoxManage sharedfolder add "FreeBSD" --name "Docs" --hostpath "C:\test"

I could mount the shred folder on the guest with:

* mount_vboxvfs -w Docs /mnt/Wx/

I can access the files with my no root user via CLI and also with the caja file manager, can also add and delete files.

The problem comes when I am using the mail client thunderbird, writing a new mail and try to add an attachment that is stored in the shared folder, the folder /mnt/Wx appears as empty than (see attachment).

Bug 270189 prevents me from testing on my everyday computer.

Loosely based on experience with VirtualBox on Linux for a customer a few weeks ago, I suspect that other users (of the port to FreeBSD) will be affected.

macaal: if you can, please check whether users of Linux report a similar problem. <https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Community> – forums first will probably be easiest.

Correcting myself re: assignment and the request for feedback. Apologies for the misinterpretation of the report.

I do still have a hunch that this, or something very similar, will be reproducible with a FreeBSD guest on a Linux host.
