Thanks for the report Graham,

The tool tip help in bugzilla states the Summary is a short sentence that succinctly describes what the bug is about.

Would it be possible for this and other ports to be more aligned with that?

Having a long summary and nonexistent description is the opposite of what the PR should look like.

Also it might be nice for the assignee to provide in the description context about the bug, instead of throwing just some links.

Thanks!

Feel free to edit, although please note that I often necessarily browse lists of bugs that are _very_ long, so I have an aversion to summary lines that are too short (or nondescript, or outdated).

Thanks

The five packages need to update their descriptionts to distinguish them from the graphics/nvidia-drm-kmod family.

Thanks.

Re: the linked bug

Conversation in my fork of the doc tree leads me to suspect that this bug 273312 may be invalid. I'll follow up here in due course.

For anyone visiting this in the future:

Each of legacy drivers (x11/nvidia-driver-[304|340|390|470] doesn't have indivisual pkg-descr and shares the one for the master port (x11/nvidia-driver).
So as x11/linux-nvidia-libs*.

FreshPorts would be showing the same contents for legacy ports.

On the other hand, graphics/nvidia-drm*-kmod has pkg-descr per-ports, to clarify the corresponding graphics/drm*-kmod ports. Note that graphics/nvidia-drm*-kmod does not support any of legacy nvidia-driver ports, as none of them have prerequisite codes in them.

They look quite different to me as of right now.

Yes, as intended (to avoid needless repetitions aka DRY bugs).

Admittedly, their descriptions are rather scarce, but that's beyond the point of this PR I guess.

So, I still fail to see what's the problem with existing descriptions of classic nVidia driver ports.
