"Write in a formal style. Avoid addressing the reader as "you". For example, say "copy the file to /tmp" rather than "you can copy the file to /tmp"."

So "You may prefer to use" should be avoided

I'm gonna close this, at the end of the year we're gonna remove all the info regarding SVN from the handbook, I have a review in phabricator for that
