Description Paul Floyd 2023-11-24 16:32:11 UTC
FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE-p5 amd64
ksh93-93.u_3,2 AT&T KornShell ksh93u+ 2012-08-01 (stable) version

When I open a konsole or xterm, it starts in / rather than in /home/paulf
Comment 1 Paul Floyd 2023-11-24 16:38:16 UTC
I get the same with
ksh-1.0.7 ksh93u+m is the renewed development of ksh93 based on AT&T ksh93u+m (stable)

Maybe it's a KDE thing?
Comment 2 Paul Floyd 2023-11-24 16:59:54 UTC
Looks like this is a krunner problem.
Comment 3 Cy Schubert freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2023-11-24 20:53:56 UTC
(In reply to Paul Floyd from comment #2)

Ksh, like any shell inherits its $CWD from its caller. Unless the user instructs it otherwise in .profile.

krunner is part of 11/plasma5-plasma-workspace.
Comment 4 Cy Schubert freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2023-11-24 20:54:42 UTC
BTW, you can verify this by temporarily changing your shell to another.
Comment 5 Paul Floyd 2023-11-24 21:09:05 UTC
The behaviour changed with the last quarterly update.
Comment 6 Paul Floyd 2023-11-24 21:10:47 UTC
Changed the title.
