The latest Samba port is out of date for an unsupported version of Samba.  The current version of Samba is 4.19.  Samba 4.18 and 4.17 are still receiving security fixes.  Samba 4.16 (the latest version in the ports tree) is currently unsupported and should be deprecated in favor of a newer, supported version of Samba.
