In an experiment, I changed my Perl install from a pkg install
to a ports make install and the problem went away. Both used the
same Perl version. So I can't explain it. If I'm the only report
it's probably safe to close this. But I'll leave it up to the maintainers
to make that decision.
FWIW I'm on releng/14.0-n265380-f9716eee8ab4 and as already mentioned
a fresh ports tree pulled yesterday afternoon.

Thanks.
