Hi,

is there some reason its kept at version from 2022?

Looking here - https://webkitgtk.org/releases/ - 2.43.4 seems to be the latest release.

2.43 is a development release series, remember that some parts of the GNOME ecosystem still do the even-odd version splits.

Additionally, it is being worked on, but *very* tricky.
