The man page starts with: NAME * mping - send ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to multiple network hosts in a round-robbin fashion. Mping support both IPv4 and IPv6 adresses at the same time. "robin" should only have 1 'b'
mping is not in FreeBSD base, it's a port. You need to report this upstream, so that we can pull the corrected version. There's no maintainer for that port and it seems abandoned (link to sourceforge, only clones on Github with similar functionality).
(In reply to Benedict Reuschling from comment #1) Since the port is abandonware, for those such trivial fix we can probably do a quick patch. A better option could be to find a replacement or alternative for this tool in the port tree and if nothing is available, outside, so we can start deprecating it. Cheers -- rodrigo
Really sorry. I'm not sure how I made that mistake. Brain fart time. I'll have a closer look at the port, and either take it over, or find an alternative. Either way, I'll submit a PR for the port with an update of some sort. As this is a miscategorised report, shall I raise a new PR or reply here? If you want, close this PR, and I'll act accordingly. Apologies again for the noise.
I note there are 2 mping ports : net/mping and sysutils/mping. sysutils/mping also doesn't have a maintainer. I'll tackle that one too.
