I took a look at the release notes. It seems like there are some changes around the handling of the LDB dependency.

0100-Fix-pathref-handling-for-FreeBSD-13plus.patch?

I am looking to build samba 4.21 on FreeBSD 13.3 as part of my work.

The pathref handling in 4.19 has been reverted to the default behavior with fdescfs.

I've not heard of any progress on this PR since the last comment.  Are you working on it?
