Samba 4.16 has been EOL since 2023-09-04[1].

We should start deprecating it once we switch the default to a newer version.

Several ports rely on the deprecated port net/samba416, i.e.

devel/gvfs
net/pecl-smbclient@php82
multimedia/kodi
print/cups-smb-backend
security/gvmd

to mention only a few directly dependend ports, but especially devel/gvfs

has a hurtful impact on other ports, i.e.

graphics/inkscape
deskutils/nextcloudclient
x11-fm/thunar
x11-wm/xfce4
x11-wm/xfce4-desktop

or from net/pecl-smbclient

www/nextcloud-calendar
www/nextcloud-contacts
security/nextcloud-end_to_end_encryption
www/nextcloud
net-im/nextcloud-talk

or security/gvm due to security/gvmd

and so on.

Setting net/samba419 as the default samba version in make.conf results in lots of failures even in a small poudriere setup.
