i feel pretty sure i've highlighted dozens to hundreds of things in the meantime. what sort of data is lurking where, and why, and what could extract it? i don't even know where to begin looking or even how to effectively report this when it happens i feel like i've seen a ghost; i cannot reproduce it for the life of me. i second guess myself. i'm not sure i didnt simultaneously bump a key or nudge the wheel. i push it down and try to forget. no more. it's happened two or three times this week and one of you must know why this happens i'm on 13.5-RELEASE/amd64. altogether this has happened maybe a dozen times in the last year. i'm using KDE Plama 6, xorg/X11. i feel like this started *around* the time i started using KDE6 but i cant say for sure it never happened with KDE5. my mouse attaches to the hms driver. the inserted string is always from within $uptime but i swear the data is so bloody ancient sometimes it scares me what else is relevant information? please help! please tell me i'm doing something stupid and this is a feature not a bug, and how it works. or tell me my alarm is warranted and i will share any information and try anything to track down this ghost in the machine i will spend a year forgoing the desktop and see if it'll happen under vt w/sysmouse if that'd be helpful to someone with the knowledge and talent to root out the problem please CC/assign the appropriate fellows. i'm so lost
Does this https://userbase.kde.org/Klipper help?
I sometimes see a related but different issue. I select some text, press the middle button but some previously selected text gets pasted. I see that the text I've just selected is still selected but the selection buffer has something else. Sometimes the issue is "stubborn", I keep re-selecting the text I want to copy again and again, but the middle click still pastes something else. Especially, when konsole is involved. Doing a clipboard copy+paste usually works. So, I am not sure what could cause the issue in my case: plasma, konsole, or Xorg in general.
